VASER HD leg liposuction

Liposuction of the legs is a cosmetic surgery procedure to remove unsightly excess fat that masks the contours of the ankles and calves, giving them the typical "pole" appearance.

The ultrasound generated by this technology will have a major effect on re-tensioning your skin and restoring the shape of your legs by removing the fat surrounding the natural contours of your anatomy.

Objectives of liposuction for legs, thighs, knees and ankles?

Through puncture points often located in the natural folds of the skin, the fat is aspirated using very fine cannulas. The aim of the procedure is manifold. Liposuction or liposuction of the legs is an effective and long-lasting way of reducing excess fat on the legs. Unsightly excess fat corrected by liposuction of the knees, thighs and ankles shows clear results after 6 to 8 weeks. The inner thigh and knee are often treated simultaneously to achieve a more slender leg appearance.VASER technology enables you to sculpt your figure, eliminating areas of excess fat and reshaping your legs.

It is also an effective treatment for lipedema.

Why consider liposuction of the legs?

Do you have excess fat in your calves and/or ankles? Have the natural, tapered contours of your calves disappeared and you can't find them despite a healthy lifestyle and regular exercise? Do you suffer from Lipoedema, the "pole" leg disease, and would like an effective, long-lasting solution? Dr. Delobaux, a plastic surgeon specializing in leg liposuction in Bordeaux, will use VASER HD technology to help you sculpt your silhouette, eliminate areas of excess fat and restore the curves of your legs.

Aesthetic leg surgery is also an effective treatment for lipedema.

The procedure for liposuction of the legs

On the day of the operation, the surgeon makes precise drawings of the areas to be treated, giving you the opportunity to ask any final questions about the procedure.

The medical (anesthetist) and paramedical team will then take charge of you and accompany you to the operating room.

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and lasts 45 min to 1h30.

After anesthesia, small incisions of a few millimeters are made to start the infiltration of a saline solution with adrenaline and a local anesthetic to reduce bleeding and increase your comfort on waking.

The surgeon then passes an ultrasound probe under the skin into the deep and superficial fat to liquefy it and facilitate its removal, as well as re-tensioning your skin. The fat is then aspirated using a conventional cannula, in a gentle, non-traumatizing way since it has been liquefied beforehand.

This significantly reduces oedema, bruising and bleeding compared to conventional liposuction.

Contraindication

It is advisable to be in satisfactory health before considering liposuction of the knees, ankles or thighs. This is the case for any surgical procedure requiring anesthesia. If fat is too hard and/or too deep, the patient may be referred to liposculpture, an advanced version of liposuction or lipoaspiration.

Pain

In addition to sensitivity and a particularly tense sensation in the calves, liposuction of the legs can cause very moderate pain. In this case, a simple analgesic may be prescribed.

Post-operative care

When you return home, you should rest completely and effortlessly, and take 7 to 15 days off work.

You should resume sporting activities after 4 to 6 weeks and avoid smoking and sun exposure.

You will see your surgeon several times for follow-up consultations.

A compression garment should be worn for 4 to 6 weeks after the operation.

Pain may persist for a few days, but you'll have all the prescriptions you need for your comfort.

Expected results

Results are visible from the day after the operation. You will need to wait between 1 and 3 months for the edema to disappear completely before you can appreciate the final result, which gives a refined appearance to the silhouette of the knees and legs, which are no longer continuous with the thighs; obtaining a slim ankle, making it easier to wear clothes...

  • Yes, these are two procedures that are frequently combined in women's lives, and they both redefine the silhouette of the tummy, thighs and back, while at the same time making the buttocks look plump and rejuvenated.

Once the fat has been removed from the liposuctioned areas, the surgeon purifies it and separates it from blood and other fluids before reinjecting it into key areas of the buttocks.
