What are our different abdominoplasty techniques?
Every patient has a different body type. Dr. Delobaux therefore offers several abdominoplasty techniques tailored to each patient’s needs.
Abdominoplasty with umbilical transposition
This is a full abdominoplasty, during which the plastic surgeon removes a significant amount of excess skin above and below the navel. The navel is then repositioned to maintain a natural appearance, and, if necessary, the abdominal muscles are tightened to firm up the abdominal wall.
Mini-tummy tuck or mini-abdominal lift
This technique is intended for patients with moderate excess skin, primarily below the navel. It does not require repositioning of the navel and therefore results in a smaller scar compared to a full abdominoplasty. The postoperative recovery is also less complicated.
The Hybrid Mini-Tummy Tuck
This technique is intended for patients with moderate excess skin above and below the navel. In some cases, the navel can be repositioned without leaving a visible scar, thereby reducing the size of the scar compared to a full abdominoplasty.
