Which areas are most commonly injected?

The most common injection sites are as follows:

• Dark circles: Dark circles tend to become more pronounced with age. Fat injections provide long-lasting results. Nanofat—an injection of adipose-derived stem cells—helps improve the dull appearance of dark circles.
• The upper or lower eyelid: This area of the face ages as it becomes more sunken with age.
• Cheekbones: Signs of Youth.
• The temples: Since they are connected to the eyes—and particularly to the outer ends of the eyebrows—the temples are among the key areas that need to be addressed. Sunken temples give the face an aged and “bony” appearance.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of lipostructure?

Lipostructure, also known as lipofilling, aims to restore harmony and volume to an aging face. It can be performed on its own or in combination with a facelift. This technique has both advantages and disadvantages.

Disadvantages

Possible side effects include: numbness of the skin (in the treated areas), bruising—also in the treated areas—or swelling—which is very common with any type of cosmetic procedure—that subsides after a few weeks. 

How do the sessions work?

First, during the consultation, Dr. Delobaux will welcome you and answer your questions. He will assess your needs and preferences and propose a solution tailored to your wishes, skin type, medical history, and other factors. 

On the day of the procedure, the surgeon will make precise markings on the areas to be treated, giving you an opportunity to ask any final questions you may have about the procedure.

The medical team (anesthesiologist) and paramedical staff will then take charge of you and accompany you to the operating room. The procedure is performed under general or local anesthesia, depending on what was planned during your consultation. It lasts between 45 minutes and 1 hour, depending on the case. After anesthesia is administered, small incisions of a few millimeters are made to begin injecting a saline solution containing epinephrine to reduce bleeding and increase your comfort upon waking.

The surgeon then makes an incision under the skin into the deep and superficial fat layers. The fat is then suctioned out using a standard cannula in a gentle, non-traumatic manner, since it has been liquefied beforehand. This results in a significant reduction in swelling, bruising, and bleeding compared to conventional liposuction. The fat is then purified and separated from blood and impurities so that only pure fat is reinjected into the areas of the face to be treated.

What are the results?

The results are visible immediately, but it takes a few weeks (3 months) to see the final results. This innovative technique delights our patients, who achieve natural and long-lasting results.

What are the postoperative effects?

Are there any alternatives to facial surgery?

A cervicofacial facelift is often combined with facial lipofilling, especially in cases of significant skin laxity. Eyelid surgery is also frequently combined with this procedure.
